Chocolate Chip Banana Bars

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 ½ cups almond meal
  • ½ cup almond butter (or your favorite nut butter)
  • 2 tablespoons hemp seed (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon flax seed (optional)
  • ¼ cup vegan dark chocolate chips (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients and mix well.
  3. Fold in the chocolate chips, if using.
  4. Pour batter into the baking dish and press down evenly.
  5. You can top with extra chocolate chips
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden and firm in the center.
  7. Remove from oven and cool completely before slicing into bars.
