Yep, I’m a total health nut…but I’m also a serious lover of food and firm believer in enjoying life to the fullest.

I truly believe that living a healthy lifestyle should be fun, easy & enjoyable, and never (ever!) painful, horrible or filled with deprivation.

My goal, and the purpose of this blog, is to help you bridge the gap and find the balance between living healthfully and indulging when the desire calls. 😁 I’ll share with you as many free resources as possible – including some of my very best plant-based recipes, wellness tips, fitness findings and secrets on how to succeed at living and feeling your best.

I’m constantly learning and growing, reading and researching, so as I discover more and more about fitness, nutrition and living well, here is where you’ll find it.

A little bit about my personal food philosophies…

…While all of the recipes here on my site are primarily plant-based, I believe in the core concept of bioindividuality; meaning there isn’t one best way of eating for everyone.

One person’s food is another person’s poison, so there no prescribed diets here. Vegans, vegetarians, raw, dairy-free, gluten-free, carnivores, pescatarians — are all welcome.

So, why are all of the recipes plant-based?

The answer is simple. Whether you eat meat and animal products, or not, I truly believe that adding more plants to your existing diet is the absolute best thing that you can do for your health. And I want to make that process simple and satisfying for you.

What works for me…

…A primarily plant-based diet that includes a whole lotta fresh, organic veggies, fruits, beans, whole grains nuts & seeds; and every once in a while a very small amount of organic, non-processed, ethically & sustainably sourced animal protein.

I skip highly processed foods, like “white” foods (e.g. white sugar, white flour, white rice, white bread), that contain a long list of unpronounceable ingredients including: food chemicals, additives, preservatives, trans fat, added sugar (esp. high-fructose corn syrup), sodium, artificial colors and flavors; and focus on eating real, whole, natural foods that come straight from the earth.

The majority of my meals and snacks include a healthy fat (like avocado, nuts, coconut etc.), fiber, protein and some type of leafy green or a green veggie.

I choose natural sweeteners like coconut sugar, maple syrup and dates. I drink coffee (unsweetened) and wine in moderation (80/20 rule = 80% of the time healthy as possible, 20% of the time livin’ it up – whatever that means for you) and I eat pizza and French fries whenever the opportunity presents itself. 😉
